Remembering Dr. Robert W. Ferguson

Chiropractor & Acupuncture located in Indianapolis, IN

Portrait of Dr Ferguson

Dr. Robert W. Ferguson, the founder of Chiropractic Rehabilitation and Acupuncture (CR&A), passed away in February 2026 from cardiac issues. Dr. Ferguson was the soul of CR&A, dedicating himself to his patients across the Indianapolis area, and his compassion and expertise touched thousands of lives. He is deeply missed by our entire practice family.

Dr. Ferguson grew up in the farming country of southern Indiana, the son of a a high school principal and a vocational school teacher. After attending Purdue University, he received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1991 from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis. Moving to Indianapolis, he first worked for other chiropractic clinics, he then opened this practice in 1993.

Over the years, there have been many changes to the practice. Originally founded as Greenbriar Chiropractic in 1993 with a focus on the core chiropractic methods, Dr. Ferguson soon began exploring other rehabilitation techniques, completing the Diplomate Rehabilitation Program and adding certification in Graston techniques for soft tissue mobilization. In 2011, he became a state-licensed acupuncturist, and renaming the practice to Chiropractic Rehabilitation & Acupuncture.  At the time of his death, he had begun experimenting with using AI-assisted speech recognition ito help make his medical notes more comprehensive.

Through it all, Dr. Ferguson maintained a practice that was patient-centered. He believed in listening carefully, explaining options clearly, and treating each person with compassion and respect. That philosophy shaped everything about this practice, and he was proud of his ability to support his patients in their times of need, with patients who he saw years and even decades.

Continuing Dr. Ferguson's Legacy
