Sound-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization

Have you suffered soft tissue damage from a car accident or some other way?

Whether you call it “sound assisted soft tissue mobilization” (SASTM) or instrument assisted soft tissue therapy, this can help you feel better.

This offers a gentle way to detect and break down scar tissue in order to help injuries heal. Your doctor may use a special instrument to find your “fascial” restrictions through sound waves. This will let him know where to treat and how much pressure to apply.

What is fascia?
This is the tissue that surrounds your muscles, bones and nerves. When one area is restricted, that causes problems in other places.

For example, you may have a couple muscles stuck together, which shouldn’t be. This not only makes those muscles work harder, but also surrounding muscles. And SASTM could help the injured muscles work independently once again.
